Opening Ceremony London 2012 Olympic Games
It is an historic event that will be watched all over the world and of course all eyes were on the Royal family as they arrived.
The Olympics Opening Ceremony was not only attended by Price Charles and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall, but of course the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as well.
As the young royal couple took their place inside the Olympic Stadium they were seen looking rather fascinated as they watched the Red Arrows fly over ahead.

It's begun: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge look fascinated as they point at and watch the Red Arrows
What a view! The Royal couple appeared to be enjoying the fantastic display at the Olympic stadium
Colour coordinated: Kate looked stunning in a light blue Christopher Kane coat dress while Prince William looked smart in a navy blue suit
The pair were spotted pointing in the sky as they flew over ahead and appeared to be in good spirits and just as excited about the start of the games as everyone else.
The Red Arrows flew overhead from east to west, leaving a spectacular trail of red, white and blue vapour.
The sound of the jet's engines was dwarfed by the cheers of the baying crowd below, but it wasn't the first time that a London crowd has been treated to an appearance from them this year as last month they flew past the crowd at Buckingham Palace to mark the Queen's Jubilee.

Can't take their eyes off: Kate was seen pointing to the sky as her husband looked on
Glad to be here: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge look in good spirits as they wait for the Olympic Opening Ceremony to start
All smiles: Kate looked happy as she chatted away to London Mayor Boris Johnson
The pretty brunette represented the country in an ice blue coat dress by cutting-edge Scottish fashion designer Christopher Kane and wore her hair down in a wavy style.
Meanwhile, Prince William looked smart in a navy blue suit, white shirt and a pink tie.
Kate was seen having a short chat with London Mayor Boris Johnson before the ceremony began and was smiling broadly as she did so.

She likes to point: Kate appeared to be deep in conversation with Boris Johnson as they chatted away
Sharing the fun together: Prime Minister David Cameron and his Wife Samantha were stood in front of the Royal couple
Sticking together: Prince Harry stayed close to his brother and sister-in-law as they waited for the events to begin
Someone else who was having a good time was the Duchess of Cornwall who was seen sharing a private joke with Prince Charles as they took their seats.
Camilla looked elegant in a cream dress and matching jacket which she teamed with a set of pearls and a Union Jack heart-shaped badge.
Prince Charles stuck to the same colour as his eldest son and wore a navy blue suit, a white shirt and a blue patterned tie.
Having a laugh: Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall arrive at the Opening Ceremony
In shock: Prince William looked rather surprised as Camilla pointed to some attendees below
Nice to see you: Prince Harry was seen greeting Princess Anne and her husband
Prince Harry was earlier seen greeting Princess Anne and her husband Timothy Laurence before the ceremony started.
Of course, the Queen also arrived and did so rather spectacularly as she made an entrance by dropping in from a helicopter by parachute accompanied by James Bond.
Good to see you: The Prime Minister was seen catching up with the Queen and Princess Anne
Stuntmen dressed in a tuxedo and a peach-coloured dress really made the leap using Union Jack parachutes, and the Queen accompanied by Prince Philip then emerged and took their seat in the Royal Box.
She, along with the rest of the Royal family, were treated to a fantastic opening which was organised by Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle.
Catching up: First Lady Michelle Obama greets Kate during a reception at Buckingham Palace earlier today
Despite it being a long day for the pretty Royal after she attended an early evening reception at Buckingham Palace where she mingled with the U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama.
Meanwhile, another member of the Royal family was mingling with someone a bit more sporty.
Prince Harry was seen standing next to Olympic gold medallist Amy Williams as she arrived at the ceremony.

India at London OLYMPICS
India is scheduled to take part in the 2012 Summer Olympics to be held in London from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The Indian government plans to spend over
250 crores in preparing for the games, including around
20 crores on foreign coaches for various events. Ajit Pal Singh has been named the chef de mission of the Indian contingent by the IOA. India will send an 83-member athlete team to London; this will be India's largest contingent ever at the games. In India you can, the live telecast of all the 2012 London Olympic events in which Indian athletes are competing will be shown on Doordarshan (DD) and ESPN Star Sports.
The first authentic Indian team took part at the 1920 Antwerp Olympic Games in athletics and wrestling. A National Olympic Committee was finally formed in 1927. India's greatest successes at the Olympics have come in men's hockey. They won every men's title from 1928 to 1956. In 1960 they reached the final but lost to Pakistan to end the sequence.
India first participated at the Olympic Games in 1900, with a lone athlete (Norman Pritchard) winning two medals in athletics. Famous Indian artist Chintamoni Kar also participated in london olympics 1948 in the event of Sculpture and he won silver medel by creating a statue named "The Stag". The nation first sent a team to the Summer Olympic Games in 1920, and has participated in every Summer Games since then. India has also competed at several Winter Olympic Games since 1964.. The 1920 team consisted of two wrestlers, two athletes and a manager. Out of the four sportsmen, only Mr. Phadeppa Dareppa Chaugule completed his event that is the Marathon. He ranked 19th with a timing of 2 Hours 50 Minutes 45.4 Seconds for a distance of 42 .750 KMs. He thus becomes India's first Olympic Marathon runner. It was indeed a great achievement for an Indian to participate and to complete the event amidst many serious adversities. Indian athletes have won a total of 20 medals, mostly in field hockey. For a period of time, India's men's field hockey team was dominant in Olympic competition, winning eleven medals in twelve Olympics between 1928 and 1980, including six successive gold medals from 1928–1956.
The National Olympic Committee for India is the Indian Olympic Association, and was created in 1927.
The 2008 Summer Olympics was the most successful Olympics ever for India with the nation winning three Olympic medals in three different sports and also winning first individual Olympic gold medal won by Abhinav Bindra.
